High Holiday Information This will be our twelth year providing High Holiday Services that are open to the Metrowest community. The congregation would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to join us in celebrating the New Year. |
|
Services are egalitarian and traditional, conducted in both Hebrew and English. We hold services at the Federated Church (118 Main St, Ashland). All non-Jewish symbols are either removed or covered. Day care will be available for those families attending with children. Volunteers are needed in several areas including; picking up supplies, setting up and breaking down, opening and closing the Ark, ushering people to their seats and helping with our Break Fast after Yom Kippur. Please contact hh@shaareishalom-ashland.org.. For fastest response, include your name, mailing address, and phone number with best time to reach you. Congregation Sha'Arei Shalom has a strong Jewish community in the Metrowest area, and we hope you will be with us for the High Holidays. Please accept the Congregations invitation to join us. | Seating | All services begin promptly. Seating is on a first-come first serve basis. | ||
| Prayer books | High Holiday prayer books are available (on a first-come/first-serve basis). Plan to arrive early to be sure you have a book. If you would like to purchase your own Machzor, they are available at the Israel Bookstore in Brookline (617-566-7113). The edition we use is The New Machzor/Machzor Hadash Enhanced Edition, published by The Prayer Book Press (ISBN 0-87677-083-9). Be sure to get the enhanced edition | ||
| Building | Although we meet in a church, all non-Jewish symbols are removed or covered during services. | ||
| Parking | The church parking lot is very limited. Parking near the church is available either behind the Ashland Town Hall or in the parking lot across from the Ashland Public Library (Front St.). |

| Tickets and Donations | |||
| Although we do not require membership or tickets to attend, there are significant expenses incurred. In order to continue providing our services to you and the community, we ask all non-members, and non-dues paying members, to contribute to our efforts. Members, although not required to make a donation, are also encouraged to do so, if possible. | |||
